Get Plugged In! Dominican Community Connections
23 Sep, 2019
Families and communities change and evolve over time, and at St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School our community is no exception. In order to better meet our parents where they are, we have restructured our parents club this year.
In keeping with the idea of being one school community, we now have one parents club - Dominican Community Connections– that includes all families in all grades on our campus, PK2-12. It was created with the goal to better connect our families and community to the school and all it has to offer.
“There is constant activity taking place both in and out of the classroom for students, parents, and families,” said Gianna Soefker, Director of Community Relations. “We discovered many parents want to get more involved, become more ‘connected’ to the school, but they weren't sure how to go about it. They weren't even aware of all the wonderful things our school has been providing for many years. With this new structure and many of the initiatives we have planned, we hope to increase involvement and provide different avenues so that there is a way for everyone to connect with our school community and with other families.”
Plans this year include parent cocktail parties, which will be held four times a year on campus, health and wellness offerings for our families, and even a grandparents club. Additionally we’ve created a Connections monthly newsletter that will include a monthly “Moms on the Move” spotlight and a listing of the opportunities for parents and families to get involved.
Our first event is Cocktails in the Courtyard on September 26 at 6:00 p.m. for all parents PK2-12th grade. Memphis Interior Designer Cameron Howell will join us and share a few tips and tricks for our homes. For more information on this and other activities, contact Gianna Soefker, [email protected].
